With dozens of red light masks on the market, choosing the right LED face mask can feel overwhelming. Use this checklist to compare models and spot what really matters.
1. Number and spread of LEDs
More LEDs spread evenly means more uniform coverage. A full-face mask with 180 LED lamp beads, such as the 60 × 3 arrangement on Lumino, is designed to reach the forehead, cheeks, nose, mouth and chin.
2. Wireless or corded
A wireless mask lets you move freely and relax. Check the battery capacity and the usage time per charge: for example 400 mAh with around 100 minutes of use means several sessions per charge. Charging time matters too; around 2 hours is typical.
3. Charging and connector
Look for a standard USB Type-C connector, which is easy to replace and widely available.
4. Comfort and fit
An adjustable strap and a light shell make long sessions comfortable. Eye cutouts should be well placed so you can keep your eyes closed comfortably.
5. Materials and build quality
Check the shell material and the finish. Specifications should be clear: voltage, power, battery and materials.
6. Session time and ease of use
A simple one-button mode is easier to use daily than a complicated menu. Sessions of 10 to 30 minutes are a good sign.
7. Safety information
A trustworthy seller gives clear safety guidance, contraindications and an identifiable company behind the product.
8. Returns and support
Check the returns policy before buying. In the EU you always have a legal right of withdrawal of 14 days for online purchases, with some exceptions.
